UK circular-economy infrastructure
Sovereign RR Global is developing a single platform that screens waste for hidden hazards, sorts materials cleanly at the point of deposit, and keeps a record that can be trusted.
The problem
Material that is mixed, contaminated or unrecorded loses its value and cannot be proven to have been recycled at all. Sorting today is fragmented: different rules, different equipment and different records from one place to the next.
Hidden lithium batteries make it worse. Crushed or pierced in a vehicle or a sorting plant, they start fires that endanger staff, destroy equipment and raise the cost of insurance.
The platform
Finds hidden lithium batteries and other hazards in mixed waste before they reach the vehicles, plant and people that a fire would harm.
Recognises and separates materials at the point of deposit. Designed for 17 material types, with room to add more.
Records what was deposited, where and when, in a form that cannot be quietly altered. Proof that stands up to audit.
Where we are
The safety engine is built and has been tested in simulation. Material recognition and the ledger are designed and prototyped in software. Patent applications are filed in the United Kingdom and internationally.
The next step is testing on real batteries and real material with UK research and industry partners.
We are in conversation with testing partners, recyclers, public bodies and investors.
